- - MUN Anime Nights for
the Fall '97 semester are in full swing. Look for us every second
Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in room E-1020 (Education
Building, 1st Floor). There will be five showings over a ten-week
period.
The exact dates are as follows:
- September 12th - Sailor Moon S movie
(which actually turned into a showing of the Sailor Moon SuperS
movie), Ghost Sweeper Mikami
(first episode), and City
Hunter: Bay City

- September 26th - Romeo's Blue
Skies (first episode), Combustible
(or Bakuen) Campus Guardress, 4-episode OVA series
- October 10th - episode TBA. Film: Wings of

- October 24th - Hallowe'en Special! Scheduled: Ghost Sweeper Mikami
and 3x3 Eyes II.

- November 7th - tentatively scheduled: re-showing of
an SJAFS favorite - Studio
Ghibli's masterpiece film Heisei
Tanuki Gassen Pon Poko.
Many thanks to Create Inc. and those who joined us at Contact '97! The convention was a lot
of fun, and the new members and club exposure were a nice bonus.
- August 8th, 1997
- - For those of you who have been waiting patiently, MUN Anime Nights
should resume this September for the Fall '97 semester. Sorry for the
delay over the summer - we'll keep everyone posted for exact dates and
show information for the Fall.
- February 18th, 1997
- - The second showing for this semester's MUN Anime Nights is scheduled
for Friday, February 21st, at 7:30pm, in room E-1020. Playing:
Urusei Yatsura OVA 4: Date with a Spirit and Terror of Girly-Eyes Measles,
along with Dragonball Z movie 1. Come jouin us for a free evening of
very silly animated entertainment! New members always welcome!

- January 31st, 1997
- - Get ready for another succession of MUN Anime Nights! Starting
Friday, February 7th, at 7:30pm, in room E-1020 (note than change:
we no longer have access to room S-2109), with four other anime nights
following every second Friday thereafter (exact dates will be posted). Battle
Arena Toshinden episode #1 and the full-length feature film Lupin III: The Dark
Order of Assasination will be shown at the first meeting. Come join us for an
action-packed evening of animated entertainment!

- - We've also placed another tape order. Currently I don't
have the exact list of tapes, so I'll have those posted at a later date. ^_^
- November 13th, 1996
- - Due to unforeseen circumstances, we regret to announce that the fourth meeting
of the Fall semester will not go ahead this Friday, November 15th. A rescheduling date is TBA.
- - Our new tapes have arrived! Expect to be seeing
3x3 Eyes OVA II,
Lupin III: The Dark Order of Assassination,
DragonBall Z movies 1 and 7,
Mimi O Sumaseba,
and Pon
Poko sometime soon.
- - For the CSU Clubs and Societies Fair this week, we've put together a new
pamphlet (also fabuously up to date!). [Pamphlet]
- October 28th, 1996
- - The third meeting of the Fall semester is scheduled for November
1st, 7:30pm, in room S-2109. In honor of Hallowe'en, we will be showing several
episodes of Masion Ikkoku (#29: Slapstick autumn fest. Inside a well with
Kyoko-san; #37: Dangerous Costume Party! Kyoko's radical change; #44:
Kentaro-kun in shock. Who really is Yotsuya?) as well as the first epsode
from the 3x3 Eyes (Sazan Eyes) OVA series I. [Poster]
- - Also: Our five-tape order from NewType Anime is in the mail as of
October 17th. Hopefully we should be recieving it soon.
- October 18, 1996
- - The 2nd meeting of Fall semester trying to go ahead... Couldn't get
S-2109 so have to see if we can get another room before 7:30 PM. Showing
Natsuki Crisis and Laputa: Castle in the Sky. [Poster]
- - Updated the .plan file for people fingering the anime account
(finger anime@cs.mun.ca) to include the
president/vice-president/secretary's addres .
- - Hoping to have all tapes ready to lend out this meeting.
- - Updated the Society Room page.
The ARCADIA homepage has been added to the
gallery, containing with lots of scanned images of Harlock, Tochiro,
Emareldas etc.
Some of the information in the Society Room
has been brought up to date. This includes the dates and times for upcoming
Anime Nights and our latest poster. Some things are still in need of some
updating, especially the tape list, membership list, and the current
fansub fund. At least there are some signs of life!
The
Departure Lounge,
is still being renovated. It is more functional now than it was before
though.
Name That Picture has had a couple of fairly recent additions and
a slight change in structure.
In the
Resource Center we have added a link to a
Canadian mirror for the Japanese-English Dictionary
